How I work

I passionately believe that in a world where we are bombarded with confusing media driven food messaging, clients need to be provided with up to date, evidence-based diet and lifestyle advice.

I work with them to set realistic and achievable goals, developing a programme to build knowledge and confidence in suggested nutritional changes and help them meet these.

My Story

Since studying food technology at school, I developed a love for cooking and an appreciation for home cooked food. At a relatively young age, I had a desire to develop my skills and knowledge to prepare food that would help me live healthily.

Following a career in the oil industry, working in marketing and operations, I retrained as a secondary school teacher. Whilst teaching food technology to young people, I became acutely aware that the skills and confidence to prepare and cook simple, nourishing meals have declined substantially. Additionally, the current food landscape and its plethora of cheap, ultra-processed foods options, does not provide young people with the best platform for healthy development, or protect them as they age.

Even with my interest in food, the growing and often conflicting media messaging around healthy eating, meant I was confused about what constituted a good diet.

Wanting to find out more about the influence of food on health status, I retrained as a nutritional therapist at the highly respected BCNH College of Nutrition and Health (accredited by the University of Greenwich). This was whilst still teaching and caring for my family and I learnt first-hand how challenging it is to provide nutritious meals for us all, whilst juggling a complex and demanding schedule of work and study.

This cemented my commitment to help my clients find ways to improve their diet and lifestyle, supporting their health concerns, but using realistic and achievable strategies that result in lasting change. I am passionate about helping others not only understand the power that nutrition can have on health, but also how to use the knowledge to address their individual health goals.
